Register your child/dependent for Beyond the Gloves – term 2

Beyond the Gloves is a free program that empowers young girls between the ages of 11-18 through physical exercise and mentoring. This builds resilience, self-esteem and confidence and promotes body positivity and mental fitness. This results in increased school attendance, motivation, meaningful connections and peer support and improved relationships.

4th Sunday every month: Meat Raffle

Come on down to the Wharfy from 2-4pm the 4th Sunday of every month for a meat raffle benefitting LocalKind.  Try the new, uplifted Wharf Bar menu, and enjoy the vibes while you support a worthy cause.

A Few Community Courses

Accidental Counselling – Practical Skills

 

While working in the Community Sector you may be involved in a crisis intervention and this course will give you the basic skills you need to recognise, respond and then referring the individual to appropriate services, while maintaining boundaries and self-care. Learn while you gain a nationally accredited unit for which you will gain a credit transfer if you subsequently enrol in a full qualification course containing this unit, eg CHC42015 Certificate IV in Community Services or CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

This first aid course is Nationally Recognised and provides participants with the skills necessary not only to be a first aid representative in a workplace but also to help family and friends in emergency situations. This unit (Provide First Aid – HLTAID011) describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
